The Three-Point Verification Process
- 1. Manufacturer Data & Certification Review We examine product specifications, ingredient disclosures, and environmental claims against third-party certifications (USDA Organic, FSC, biodegradability standards).
- 2. Aggregate User Review Analysis We analyze hundreds of verified purchase reviews to identify consistent patterns in real-world performance, filtering out anomalies and sponsored reviews.
- 3. Independent Household Testing When possible, we conduct controlled, hands-on testing in multi-cat households. We use consistent metrics for dust generation, odor control, clumping strength, and tracking.
Specific Testing Parameters
For products we test in-house, we measure:
- Dust Content: Measured using vacuum filtration and gram scales per liter.
- Odor Control: Assessed at standardized time intervals (24, 48, 72 hours).
- Clumping Integrity: Drop-tested from standard scoop height.
- Tracking: Observed distribution patterns on adjacent hard flooring.
Academic Citation Standards
To support our testing, we cross-reference findings with peer-reviewed veterinary research, environmental science journals, and trusted pet health organizations like the Cornell Feline Health Center.
